    Happy summer everyone!

Last weekend was a fantastic start to the season, hope the weather keeps up.

We are happy to report that the tennis court project is well underway and if the schedule holds up should be ready as early as this weekend.

This has been truly a community effort to date. So far we have had contributions from more than 50 individuals and camps in amounts ranging from $100 to $5000 with total pledges of over $88,000 and funds received of over $53K. The Bill Moore Memorial Fund raised more than $8500, a personal thank you to all who contributed there.

It is not too late to contribute! We would love to see 100% participation from camps, in small or large amounts. While we have exceeded our initial goal there were overages including a decision to fully replace the fence. We hope to use any additional funds to ensure ongoing maintenance of the courts, including a functional roller. Any donations can be sent to MRI (check to MRI, note “Tennis fund”), PO Box 646 Lakeville CT 06039.

A huge thank you to the MRI Board for their faith in taking the leap to sign the contract before the funds were fully committed and for funding the balance of the project.

Liz Kollias is really the mastermind behind this project and was tireless in pushing for it, getting estimates, and seeing it through so far. Thank you Liz!

Also thank you to Tobey Moore, Tom Vail, Anne Williams, Bridget Schrenkel, Jim Dresser, and Barbara Heinemann for all of their work and support. And thank you to Roger for updating the road!

If anyone wants to try them out we are up this weekend and would love to get out there…
