    Attached are two portraits of ancestors. We have reproductions of these paintings hanging in our cabin and would love to discover who these folks are. One the back of the woman’s painting is the name Maria Tomlinson. That is a guess as is the name on the other portrait, which says Tomlinson Wells. Any ideas out there would be great!

    Sara, I too have not seen the pictures, but Tomlinson was married to Electa Smith … could the photo be of Electa?

    Upon further research, I found a Maria (Hyde) Tomlinson who married Tomlinson Wells 4th great grandfather, George, in 1600 in Darby England … but this is probably not the Maria you have in your picture. Could your Maria be related to Gov. Tomlinson Wells?

    p.s. I have not seen the picture.
